Teachers on the Web
is A web design course for k12 teachers in Fulton County, Georgia. This course
is offered through the Fulton County Schools Staff Development
and will cover making web pages, managing a web site, and finding resources online
to enhance your web site and lesson plans. Come and meet your teacher, Paula Edmiston !
This online course awards
3 SDU credits for 30 hours of work.
| Section One |
The first week will be spent in meeting together, face-to-face,
for orientation to the course, your web host and the tools we will use. During
this meeting you'll be introduced to the web host that you'll use during the course.
You'll learn about your web account, and practice uploading and downloading files.
You'll also learn how to download, install and configure the software programs
used in this course. |
| Section Two |
Learning to use the web page editor: Netscape Composer. Learning
about adding hyperlinks to your page, the formal title of the page, and general
formatting. |
| Section Three |
Learning to add graphics to your web page. You're sent
to a couple of special websites that help you edit images and you'll visit and
use graphics archives. |
| Section Four |
Design issues, including how to effectively present content and
how to make your web site accessible to the broadest audience possible. |
| Section Five |
Learning about K12 resources on the web. You'll visit and use
resources for improving your web design and content. |
